"Nora Jessie Mackay...

... was born at 14.08 on tenth December, after a very stressful forty-two hour labour, by ventous. We are both recovering."

(In other words, don't phone them just yet. Someone will post here when they're both comfortably awake. In the meantime, post your congratulations to Cait and Mackay below!

Fantactic news! Congrats and well wishes for a swift recovery.

First time someone I know has given birth on my birthday. Feels like some kind of a bond.

Fourty Two? Bloomin' Nora. (Now, that's the answer to the question.)

Congratulations!

Splendid work Cait - I bet that'll take some serious rose-tinted glasses to forget.

And Nora, if you're reading this in many years time: the twentieth century sucked, you didn't miss anything.

We have some projects for you: introduce a hydrogen economy, world peace, nanotechnological jammie-dodger dispensers.

But you have a breather first, eh?

Welcome Nora. You bear the name of my wonderful, insane and sadly not long departed aunt. Among other theories she was convinced that counting seconds precisely when no time piece was available was simply a matter of saying "rickety buckety" between each number. Foolproof I'm sure you'll agree.

Posted by: Alex Balfour at December 11, 2003 03:16 PM

That is epic; I can't wait to hear the telling of it.

Well done, Cait.

Welcome, Nora.

You can breathe now, Mackay.

Top job, Cait.

Nora: you've got the perfect start, in two great parents. Welcome, and enjoy the big world.

Wow - what a marathon! Well, I'm sure Nora will be worth it and they say you forget the agony pretty swiftly.

Congrats to both of you and looking forward to meeting her!

Lotti
